7 Reasons to Love Photography

I relate my love of photography to a valuable lesson I learned a long time ago.  If you want to be good at anything, if you want to truly enjoy something and get the most out of it, you have to have PASSION!  Without passion you lack motivation, dedication and all of the other adjectives that will allow you to enjoy life.  It doesn’t matter what you are passionate about, it only matters that you are passionate about something.  Imerse yourself in something and go in over your head once and a while.  You will be surprised what you are capable of.  Putting yourself out there and experiencing what it is like to be truly vulnerable will make you a stronger and more wise individual!

I don’t know why I just went on such a philosophical and lecture style rant, but I guess I can blame it on my P-A-S-S-I-O-N!

Power:  There is nothing more telling, more emotional and more powerful than a great image.  A great image can take your breath away and can leave you speechless.  You can never recreate the special moments in certain images, but you can preserve the memory forever!

Aperture:  Let the light in!  Allow yourself to see the light in different forms and apply it to the images you create.

Stress Relief:  Photography can be a great stress relief.  It definitely allows you to slow things down and removes you from the fast paced lives we live.

Seize:  Photography allows you to “seize” the moment.  Life is full of fleeting moments that can be captured and preserved forever.  One look at the image can bring right back to the exact moment in time when the picture was taken.

Inspiration:  Let the world around you and the images you capture inspire your creativity and open your mind to new suggestions and ideas.

Observation:  You want to improve your observation skills and your attention to detail?  Al you need to do is pick up photography as a hobby.  It will open your eyes to a world you normally would pay no attention to.  When you start looking for good light and good shots, you start to see things differently.

Narration:  Photos tell stories, and a good image can speak to the observer and tell a whole story without the observer even knowing the subject of the photograph.
